Salary – 45-50k per annum (dependent upon experience)

To lead and develop a sustainability strategy, policies and initiatives for Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) and the current/future development proposals of its surrounding 1600 acre site.
To work closely with all stakeholders within the airport community and colleagues at all levels, to embed sustainable thinking into business practice and programmes.
To be responsible for the airport’s sustainability policies and procedures and maintaining ISO 50001 accreditation.
To oversee the fulfilment of the airport’s 106 agreement and associated planning conditions.
To oversee the operation and maintenance of the Noise & Track Monitoring System.
To monitor energy consumption, managing energy reduction and deliver reduced carbon footprint.
To lead and develop the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, including the production of CSR reports, managing external events and skills/education engagement initiatives.
To represent the airport on various external working groups and forums; presenting at public meetings and or meet with stakeholders, business partners and/or members of the local community, providing consultation and information on sustainability topics.
To be responsible for noise complaints, control and monitoring, sound insulation grant, conservation and biodiversity, local air quality, waste management & minimisation and the administration of the community investment fund and the Airport’s chosen charity.
Educated to degree level in sustainability, communications and/or environmental management or practical experience.
Proven competency in delivering effective sustainability strategy within a commercial environment.
Good communication skills (verbal, written & listening) – ability to rationally explain, explore, discuss and present on sustainability topics to various audiences, including colleagues, suppliers, regulators and the general public.
Good working knowledge of environmental practices, legal framework and general environmental issues and how they relate to the business and community, with proven competency of working in a similar role.
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish to establish positive working relationships and influence and persuade at all levels, with tact and diplomacy.
Excellent IT skills and good analytical/numeracy skills to monitor KPIs.
Clear evidence of sound judgement and ability to evaluate options to make appropriate recommendations.
Attention to detail and methodical approach to working.
A passion for the aviation industry, with genuine ambition to evolve sustainability strategy within the airport, its surrounding development site and the wider community.
Membership of a relevant professional body.
Practical knowledge of ISO 50001 or equivalent standard.
Experience of Environmental and/or Energy Management Systems and their application.
Experience of environmental monitoring, sampling and analysis.
Experience of working with local communities.
Pension – 5% employee, 4% employer (increasing up to 6%), including life cover (4 x annual salary)
