Golfers from across the Sheffield City Region are packing their clubs ready to head off to Faro thanks to a new direct twice a week flight from Yorkshire’s Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
The Flybe route is one of ten new routes with the low cost airline which is are now operating out of Doncaster.
Golf in Faro is second to none, with more than 40 golf courses to choose from in the sun-kissed Algarve.
Susan Leach, from Doncaster Golf Club, said: “Playing golf in Portugal is one of those things that most golfers do once and then they are hooked!
“There are so many fantastic courses to choose from and there is nothing nicer than teeing off in the sunshine.”
The quality of golf in the Algarve attracts thousands of visitors every year thanks to the glorious all year round climate and the number of championship golf courses.

Doncaster Sheffield Airport is situated in the heart of the Sheffield City Region, just 25 minutes away from Sheffield city centre having recently opened the Great Yorkshire Way link road from junction 3 of the M18.
