Runaway bride Sara gets wizzed away from Yorkshire AirportFebruary 12, 2015
Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield and airline Wizz Air are joining forces to help a bride win her dream wedding.
Sara Hamblin, 31, from Old Whittington, is taking part in Peak FM’s Runaway Bride competition, which sees two brides to-be competing for the prize of a paid for wedding ceremony and reception courtesy of The Rutland Arms Hotel in Bakewell.
To win the prize, each Runaway Bride has £50 and just 48 hours to get as far away as possible from Peak FM’s base in Chesterfield. Sara is accompanied on her journey by Peak FM presenter Craig Bailey.
Sara will set off from Doncaster Sheffield Airport on a Wizz Air flight to a secret location.
Kate Stow, Head of Marketing and Communications at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “We are delighted that Wizz Air have stepped in without hesitation to help Sara in her quest to win the Runaway Bride competition.
“It is incredibly generous of them to be providing Sara’s flight free of charge and the Airport is more than happy to assist in this fun initiative in any way possible.”
Doncaster Sheffield Airport is Wizz Air’s second largest UK base and the only one in Yorkshire. Currently, the airport operates a total of 24 Wizz Air flights per week to eight different European destinations.
Kate added: “We hope the location that she is setting off to is far enough for her to win her dream wedding ahead of the other Runaway Bride.”
