Robin Hood Airport gets set for the Easter getaway and ‘eggstra’ passengersMarch 28, 2013
This weekend sees the start of the great Easter holiday getaway, with Doncaster Sheffield Airport forecasting thousands of passengers set to travel over the holiday period, bringing the Airport its busiest period of the year so far.
Over 30,000 passengers are expected to pass through the Airport during the Easter School holiday period as passengers take the opportunity to fly between Doncaster Sheffield Airport and a host of destinations across Europe and beyond. Popular routes are expected to be the wide choice of Mediterranean resorts and city break destinations available from the Airport, served by operators such as Thomson, First Choice, Thomas Cook, Wizz air and Ryanair.
The airport car parks are expecting an influx of vehicles, the various catering companies on site are making sure their food and beverage stocks are topped up and the Duty Free shop has brought in additional supplies of popular perfumes, cosmetics, spirits and chocolates.
Lorraine Daffern, Head of Terminal Services & Security for the airport said: “This will be a really busy period for the airport and we all look forward to welcoming passengers ahead of their flights.
“We are known for how well we look after our passengers and preparations for the additional throughput have been underway for some time to make sure that passengers continue to have a great experience here, even when we are busier than usual.”
