The October half term provides families with a fantastic opportunity to go on holiday and escape to warmer climates.
As the summer comes to an end and colder weather approaches, many people are looking to getaway destinations such as the Canaries and Egypt. As a result, Doncaster Sheffield Airport are forecasting a busy half term period.
Thousands of passengers are expected to pass through the Airport during the school half term period of October 24 to November 3 as passengers take the opportunity to fly between Doncaster Sheffield Airport and a host of destinations across Europe and beyond.
Popular destinations of choice include the wide range of Mediterranean resorts and city breaks available from the Airport, served by operators such as Thomson, First Choice, Thomas Cook, Links Air and Wizz Air.
Steve Gill, Managing Director of the airport, said: “Half term is a busy period for the airport and we all look forward to welcoming passengers ahead of their flights.
“We are known for how well we look after our passengers and preparations for the additional throughput have been underway for some time to make sure that passengers continue to have a great experience here, even when we are busier than usual.”
Doncaster Sheffield Airport were recently ranked joint top in the annual Which? member survey of UK airports after scoring an impressive 85 per cent customer score.
