Paula secured dream holiday prizeOctober 25, 2013
A lucky lady from Rotherham is celebrating after becoming the winner of a holiday for two to Tenerife with Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield and RyanAir.
Paula Churchill, who lives in Maltby, will be jetting off for a week in the sun in November, holidaying at the Barcelo Varadero Hotel within the Playa de la Arena resort. She also received £500 spending money and a bottle of Champagne as part of the prize package.
Mum-of two Paula entered the competition, which was run by Capital FM, by submitting her entry online and she was thrilled when it was announced that she was the lucky winner.
Paula said: “I was amazed and delighted when I received the call to say that I had won. I couldn’t actually believe it at first.
“I visited Tenerife many years ago, so it will be lovely to go back and see what has changed in the resort. I have had a look at the hotel online and it looks fantastic – I am literally counting down the days until we jet off.
“I have booked and extra ticket so that I can take both my sons and I haven’t told them that we are going on holiday yet as I want to surprise them as it will be their first holiday abroad. I can’t wait to see their faces when I tell them on the morning we fly that we are going to Tenerife, it will be like Christmas has come early.”
Doncaster Sheffield Airport Managing Director Steve Gill said: “We were delighted to run a competition in partnership with RyanAir. We have an excellent relationship with them and Tenerife is a fantastic resort that continues to remain a popular destination choice for our passengers.
“I would like to congratulate Paula and I am sure that her and her sons will have a wonderful time.”
Doncaster Sheffield Airport provides a weekly winter service to Tenerife for those wanting to experience winter sunshine.
Holidays in Tenerife certainly pack a punch when it comes to sun-drenched beach breaks. The island is less golden swathes of sand and more black volcanic seashores. But if it's yellow-white sands you're after, you'll find your ideal summer holiday spot in Las Teresitas.
Away from the beach, holidays in Tenerife take a turn towards the more traditional. And the lunar-like landscape is peppered with banana plantations, whitewashed villages and shuttered colonial buildings. And the shopping's just as attractive and are a perfect place to take advantage of the lower taxes.
The island comes to life as happy hours announce the beginning of the night. After a couple of cocktails, make your way to the clubs and discos that spill big beats and floor fillers into the darkness. Whether you're looking for 80's electro-pop, songs from the swinging 60's or top chart tunes – let your hair down in some of the best parties on the island and dance to the music.
