New Commercial Manager set to be a high flyer at airportAugust 20, 2013
Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield have added to their management team with the appointment of a new Commercial manager.
Ian Smith, age 40 from Bessacar has joined the airport team having previously worked in the commercial department at Liverpool John Lennon Airport and as business development manager at Leeds Bradford Airport.
In his new role Ian is hoping to deliver an enhanced passenger experience at Doncaster Sheffield Airport as well as introducing new services and products.
Ian said: “I am very much looking forward to my new role and I have joined the team at an exciting time for the airport.
“There are great opportunities to strengthen the business and commercial opportunities at the airport and I am excited to play my part in the Airport’s continued growth.“
One of Ian’s first missions is to expand the customer offering in terms of the services and facilities at Doncaster Sheffield Airport. He will be looking to improve what is currently on offer with new Car Parking products, Retail, Food and Beverage in a bid to satisfy customer demand.
“Delivering outstanding customer service is something which I am incredibly passionate about and I will be working hard to ensure that we maintain our high levels of customer satisfaction.
“I am bringing a wealth of travel and aviation knowledge to the role and also have a number of key contacts within the industry. As a fitness instructor in my spare time, I have a great deal of enthusiasm, motivation and a strong work ethic, which I bring to my professional career.
“The team at the airport are fantastic and very experienced and have made me feel welcome. The Peel Group has such a great pedigree and I am delighted to be working for the group again. I am committed to making the airport a real destination for passengers and relishing the opportunity to work at Doncaster Sheffield Airport,” added Ian.
Passengers will be pleased to know that the airport are looking to add to the major brands that already operate in the terminal, which include JD Wetherspoon, WH Smith, Travelex and World Duty Free and to develop long-lasting relationships with these business partners.
