Kefalonia calls for airportAugust 11, 2017
Sun seekers are in for a treat next summer following the announcement that there will be a new TUI route from Doncaster Sheffield Airport to Kefalonia.
Flights to the Greek Island, which is famous for the filming of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, are already on sale providing an extra 4,500 seats for holiday makers flying from DSA to take advantage of.
The once a week package holiday flights will take off on Thursday 3 May 2018 and continue through until the end of September 2018, where guests will be able to stay at the luxury TUI Sensimar Hotel located on the south of the Island.
Steve Gill, Doncaster Sheffield Airport’s chief executive, said: “We are really pleased to be able to offer our customers this new route especially as we’ve never serviced Kefalonia before.
“It’s such as beautiful island with so much history to explore, we are sure that people will find it a great place to visit.
“As a rapidly growing airport, it is fantastic that we are able to continue to build on our offering by providing more routes and package holiday options to our customers so they have as much choice as possible when choosing their next destination.”
In addition to the Kefalonia route, TUI are also putting on extra flights to Dalaman in Turkey so 10/11 night breaks are now available.
Karen Switzer, Director of Aviation Planning for TUI UK & Ireland, said: “Introducing the new route to Kefalonia for next summer is a key part of our strategy to enhance the holiday experience for our customers from Yorkshire and give them wider access to our exciting collection of destinations.”
