Fenerbahce FC arrive into South YorkshireJuly 31, 2014
Stars of top European side Fenerbahce FC arrived in South Yorkshire last night (July 30) ahead of the club’s pre-season friendly with Sheffield United.
The Turkish champions flew into Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield on a special chartered flight ahead of a brief stay in the region.
Players and officials from Fenerbahce then headed off to their Copthorne Hotel base on Bramall Lane in Sheffield, where they will stay in preparation for the game with the Blades tonight (July 31).
For the game Fenerbahce will feature several star players who were at the World Cup in Brazil this summer, including Portuguese duo Bruno Alves and Raul Meireles, as will Brazilian Diego Ribas.
The friendly is part of Sheffield United’s 125th anniversary celebrations.
Fenerbahce will return to Turkey from Doncaster Sheffield Airport on Friday afternoon.
