Careers taking off at the airport for College high flyersJuly 25, 2013
A group of former Doncaster College students are celebrating having landed jobs in the aviation industry at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield
A total of six of the College’s former students have all secured jobs working in various roles for Servisair and Securitas, the ground handling agent and security providers for the airport, ranging from Passenger Service Assistants, Cabin Crew and airport security.
The employment success reinforces the strong partnership between Doncaster College and the airport. In addition to this year’s new recruits securing jobs, a number of College alumni from 2012 who were successful in achieving positions at the airport last year have had their contracts renewed for a further year.
Steve Gill, Managing Director at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “We have a long standing partnership with Doncaster College and it is fantastic news that the former students have been recruited by Servisair and Securitas and are now working at the airport.
“It is important that students enrolling on aviation focussed courses at the College see a career progression into their chosen sector. As a regional airport we are always keen to recruit local people, which has a positive impact on the local economy.
“The continued success of the last year’s College students who work at the airport is testament to the development opportunities we have.
“I wish the employees every success in their careers and look forward to hearing about their progression.
