Airport gets set for the Bank HolidaymakersMay 24, 2013
This weekend’s May Bank Holiday is providing a great opportunity for many families to jet off to the sun.
Over 12,000 passengers are expected to pass through the Airport during the May Bank Holiday period as passengers take the opportunity to fly between Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield and a host of destinations across Europe and beyond.
Popular routes are expected to be the wide choice of Mediterranean resorts and city break destinations.
The airport car parks are expecting an influx of vehicles, the caterers on site are making sure their food and beverage stocks are topped up and the World Duty Free shop has brought in additional supplies of popular perfumes, cosmetics, spirits and chocolates.
Steve Gill, Managing Director of the airport, said: “May bank holiday is a busy period for the airport and we all look forward to welcoming passengers ahead of their flights.
“We are known for how well we look after our passengers and preparations for the additional throughput have been underway for some time to make sure that passengers continue to have a great experience here, even when we are busier than usual.”
